As a crucial building block in modular systems, the Rectiverter module shares the same dimensions and mechanical design as Eltek's other Flatpack2 modules. It serves as the core foundation for constructing modular, scalable systems. Moreover, it is fully compatible with Eltek's existing Smartpack controllers, ensuring sophisticated system control and monitoring capabilities. This compatibility guarantees optimized, secure, and uninterrupted system operation.​

 

During normal operation, each Rectiverter module can supply up to 2000W of both AC and DC power. The AC input is first rectified into an intermediate DC voltage, which powers the built-in inverter stage to generate a perfect AC output waveform. A bidirectional DC/DC stage connects the intermediate DC voltage to the module's DC port. Under normal circumstances, the DC/DC stage delivers energy to the DC port, charging batteries at the appropriate voltage and powering DC loads. In the event of an AC (mains) failure, the energy flow of the DC/DC stage reverses. It draws energy from the DC port, specifically the batteries, to power the inverter stage, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to AC loads. The transition from AC to DC power is instantaneous and causes no disturbance to the load.​

 

In solar systems, the Rectiverter can harness excess solar energy from the DC port to power AC loads, thereby reducing reliance on the mains. In this scenario, the intermediate DC voltage within the module is simultaneously supplied by both the rectified mains and the bidirectional DC/DC stage. This automatic and seamless bidirectional functionality sets the Rectiverter apart technically. Functionally, its uniqueness lies in its ability to act as both a rectifier and an inverter within the same module, offering unprecedented flexibility in mixed AC and DC environments. By reducing the amount of equipment required and significantly simplifying the system architecture, the Rectiverter ultimately cuts down on the total cost of ownership.​

 

Beyond its role as a combined AC UPS and DC power supply, the Rectiverter can also function as a pure inverter without any connection to the AC mains. In this configuration, the Rectiverter system links to a DC power system, providing backup energy for AC loads. Additionally, it can be used as a pure rectifier in systems without AC loads. These additional application possibilities further highlight the remarkable flexibility of the Rectiverter.
